One of the first things that you need to know is what a percent is, and why it's so important. Basically, a percent is a unit that represents the mass of an element. When you do percentage analysis, you are actually using these units as you would in a laboratory. One of the best ways to learn how to do percent analysis is to take the Chemistry section of the AP Calculus course. In this course, you will learn about the use of the unit formula and how to make it work for your calculations. This is a perfect opportunity to learn how to do percent composition analysis.Next, think about how much time you are going to spend working with these units on a daily basis. If you don't have much time to devote to learning the concepts, you may want to consider taking a Math class that focuses more on the different concepts. For example, if you take an introduction to calculus class that uses units, this will give you a deeper understanding of the concepts. Finally, another way to learn how to do percent composition chemistry is to read more about the unit formula. This is especially true if you've never really paid much attention to it before. While it may be possible to do the math for yourself, you'll likely learn a lot more by reading an overview of the units.Lastly, one more way to learn how todo percent composition chemistry is to talk to someone who is already an expert in the field. If you go to a chemistry club or reading group, you may be able to learn a lot from their discussions. Also, you may get to know more about this field by going to seminars or conferences. These are just a few of the ways that you can learn how to do percent composition chemistry. TutorZ Trademark Accepted
TutorZ Trademark Accepted TutorZ owns a trademark on its logo issued by the Unites States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). To be exact it is service mark. Service marks differ from trademarks as they are used on the advertising of the service rather than on the packaging or delivery of the service, since there is generally no package to place the mark on. The mark was issued in 2008. Here is our trademark: Patent and trademark laws require a renewal after 5 years. We started this process in 2013. The renewal process was perhaps hardener than the initial trademark application. We made technical mistakes such as changing the owner of the trade mark from TutorZ to Dirk Wagner the owner of TutorZ LLC. This required a re-submission of the renewal request. Each mistake costs another $100 in fees to the USPTO. Eventually, we found it easier to get legal help from the trademark experts Lee Associated in Ann Arbor, MI. Jason Lee was very professional, fast and supportive to work with. Thank you Jason! Very disconcerting was the fact that the USPTO initially rejected the renewal saying we cannot obtain a trademark on the word TutorZ because the word is too close to the natural word tutor . Thats an understandable objection or else people might get a trademark on all English words and force us to charge every time we use this word. In any case the way out of the natural word problem is to describe the service mark and embellish it with style and symbols. The USPTO and TutorZ came up with the following description: The mark consists of a teacher (first T) icon and student (smaller T) embedded in the letters of the brand name Tutorz (pronounced Tutor-zee); the filled circles above the letters T represent stylized heads, the horizontal top part of the the letters T with the hanging end-marks represent a students arms and hands, the vertical part of the letter T represents her body; The teachers color is a golden yellow with black drop shadow; the students color is a crimson red with black drop shadow; the remaining letters u, o, r, and z are colored and filled crimson red as well. The teachers color is a golden yellow with black drop shadow; the students color is a crimson red with black drop shadow; the remaining letters u, o,r, and z are colored and filled crimson red as well. TutorZ ownership of the trademark is public record and its USPTO status can be verify. Here is the USPTO Notice of Acceptance. Congratulations to TutorZ! Another 10 Years of proud trademark ownership!

Stanford the University, the Town, The Tourist site
Stanford the University, the Town, The Tourist site Why write about Stanford, California. I was thinking of places Ive never been in California and Stanford went through my mind, and I decided to take a look at the city of Stanford, not the University of Stanford. Well, as it turns out there is no city of Stanford; rather it is an unincorporated area of Santa Clara County adjacent to the city of Palo Alto. Stanford has its own post office and two zip codes, one for buildings on campus and another for post office boxes. It even has its own shopping center and medical center along with a very nice residential neighborhood. The main tourist attraction to this non city of Stanford, other than the University, is the Dish. It weighs 300,000 pounds and rotates on a circular railway track. It was placed on a beautiful area of rolling hills with views on a clear day that extends to San Jose, San Francisco, and the East Bay. The Dish was originally funded to be built for the U.S. Air Force at around $4.5 million, in 1966. The purpose at that time was to studying the chemical composition of the atmosphere. However, it turns out that it became very useful in communication with satellites and spacecraft. In fact it was used to transmit signals to all of the Voyager craft that NASA dispatched into the outer reaches of the solar system. The Dish is still used today, but mostly for academic research. âHello, is there anyone out there?â How about the real attraction to Stanford, the University? In 1876, the former Governor of California, Leland Stanford purchased 650 acres of Rancho San Francisquito for his own personal country home. He then began to build the famous Palo Alto Stock farm. In time he purchased adjoining properties that consisted of more than 8,000 acres. The little town of Palo Alto (tall tree) began to emerge around the amazing redwoods. Additionally, the redwood that inspired the townâs name is still here and later became the universitys symbol and centerpiece of its official seal. Leland Stanford, who is from and educated in New York made his was west after the gold rush and made his money on railroads. Leland and his wife had one son who when turning 15 went with his parents on a trip to Italy where he contacted typhoid fever in 1884 and lost his life. Not too long after his death the Stanfordâs decided that since they could not do anything for their own son, the children of California shall be our children. On October 1, 1891, Stanford University opened its doors after six years of planning and building. Of course many people especially back east were very skeptical about this venture, which on its first day opening the school had 15 teachers and a class of 555 students. A very unusual part of this universityâs population was that it consists of men and women and had no religious ties. This was extremely unusual at that time. At the last census Stanford had a population of 13,809 of which 7,484 were males and 6,325 female. Also the median age of Stanford is 22.6 years where as the median age of the state of California is 45.6 years. To sum up going from population to the residential situation, suffice for me to say that property values are very high and rentals are just as bad. The estimated median value of a house or condo is $921,158, where the state is about $355,600. Academically, Stanford University boasts the highest percentage of bachelor degree holding residents at 94.6%. Plus; Stanford edged Princeton out of first place into the No. 3 spot on this yearâs rankings, which focus on Student Satisfaction (22.5%), Post-Graduate Success (37.5%), Student Debt (17.5%), Graduation Rate (11.25%) and Nationally Competitive Awards (11.25%). Pomona College moved up to No. 2 from ninth place last year, followed by Princeton University (No. 3), Yale University (No. 4) and Columbia University at No. 5. âPicking a college is one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime,â says Forbes Executive Editor Michael Noer. âOur college rankings were created to inform consumers about the quality of the educational experience and our brand new financial health grades give insight into which schools will be around for the long-haul.â Of all the Universityâs to look at as an option for your child or yourself, the United states has many great institutionâs to choose from and as I just learned doing a little research Stanford is at the top of the list in many categories. If you happen to be a football fan, Stanford always has a great competitive team. Also many of the players, unlike a lot of athletes at other schools, are graduating with degrees in Engineering and Computer Science. Unlike the athletes that walk out of some school with a degree in advanced finger painting. Just a final thought for you; if you need to boost your skills in any area to prepare for the university curriculum just head to TutorZ.com and you will find what you need to get the job done.
Federal Education Spending Fails To Prevent Dropping Skill Levels and Wage Gap
Federal Education Spending Fails To Prevent Dropping Skill Levels and Wage Gap While the Federal Department of Education spends huge amounts of dollars in the national education in failed to prevent a drop in skill levels and a widening of the wage gap. In 2014, the Federal Education spending totaled a whopping $140 billion, which is a 12% of the entire federal budget or 6% of our national income (GDP). Given this substantial investment, the question is how much progress has been made in education? In this article we like to measure this progress in education against the 2007 article Americas Perfect Storm released by the Education Testing Service (ETS). This company tested the aptitudes of millions of Americans by means of the the SAT, GRE, AP and TOEFL standardized test. In the article, the ETS identified three main challenges that would shape the knowledge-based jobs in the US and with it our ability to compete in the global economy. These three challenges are: 1. Drop in skill levels, especially in reading and math. 2. A widening of the wage gap. 3. Demographic shifts, that is less education. 1. Disparities in Skill Levels In a study conducted by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) and the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) test scores between American, Canadian, Chinese and Korean students was compared in the time frame from 2003 to 2012. The test scores of Chinese and Korean students increased from an normalized store of 550 to 561 and 542 to 552, respectively. In the same interval test scores of American students declined from 483 to 481. See picture below. This alarming result poses a clear threat to the US because it has the highest inequality gap in skills, especially in math and reading and â" that is, across US student and adult populations, the gap between our most and our least proficient is the highest of any of the OECD countries. The ETS report names three factors that might have caused this skill drop. A prolonged recession, rising automation and competition from overseas. 2. Widening of the Wage Gap Today an estimated 48% American college grads work in work in jobs that did not require a college degree. Back in 2000, the ETS expected 66% of all job growth to come from college jobs. Today it is the non-college jobs which account for the major part of employment growth of Americans. The unemployment and underemployment rates are a part of the ETS report. In 2014, the unemployment rate was 8.5% of recent college grads and the underemployment rate skyrocketed to a 16.8%. In comparison these numbers were 5.1% and 10.5% back in 1995, respectively. The Americas Perfect Storm publication blames the technology and outsourcing for this trend. Me as a part-time economist would add that skyrocketing debt, legal hazard and a entitlement thinking significantly contribute to the ongoing loss of our competitiveness. 3. Demographic Shifts The good news is that the US population is expected to grow 20% until 2030. In comparison, the populations of Europe and Eastern Europe are stagnating or shrinking. However, earlier population growth was fueled by a positive birth rate of Americans (larger than 2.1 children per couple). The future population growth mainly comes from the immigration of Hispanics. Often thely lack high-school diplomas and many do not speak English well or at all. How will they fare in the US workforce? While it is that investment in education is a primary driver in the US economy. However, this substantial investment has failed to yield the expected results. Our US economy is loosing ground against overseas competition. A former president Ronald Reagan once said. I know that for America there will always be a bright dawn ahead. I personally share the optimistic sentiment of this quote. Why? Because Americas bright entrepreneurs will find solutions to this crisis in education. We at TutorZ play our part in providing affordable quality tutoring to American students.

However, it would be impossible to watch all of the great movies that are made each year without getting yourself immersed in the native culture.Anime is so popular here in Japan that there are even dedicated anime movie clubs. So, if you are interested in a career in anime, there are a few choices that you could make. You would translate the text in manga into words that the English speaking public can understand. If you have a degree in English or linguistics, you may be able to get a job in this field. If you want to learn more about anime, there are a number of good places that will offer you a hands-on experience. Video Lessons How to play Acoustic Guitar like John Mayer
Video Lessons How to play Acoustic Guitar like John Mayer Megan L. Learn how to play acoustic guitar like John Mayer in these video lessons from guitar teacher Jonathan B. John Mayer has been called one of the new âGuitar Gods.â Claiming Stevie Ray Vaughn as one of his biggest childhood heroes, the blues and jazz influence on his pop style has given him more than just a niche in the radio market. Its also made him able to influence millions of guitarists with his playing style and techniques. He continues to release a steady stream of new music and fans continue to take interest in his songwriting as well as his guitar techniques. John Mayer is equally well known for his electric and acoustic guitar styles; in this article we will focus more on the acoustic. There are several tricky picking hand techniques he uses which throw many would-be cover artists off the trail. A few of his most popular songs in guitar circles are Stop This Train, Who Says, Neon, The Heart of Life, Clarity, and Your Body is a Wonderland. Although these songs have a few notable techniques in them, were going to focus on just one in this article. The Pluck and Chuck/Pick and Flick Technique Notorious for confusing guitarists for the last several decades, this technique involves a basic reversal of hand mechanics. You must learn to flick the pointer or middle finger and slap with the thumb at the same time. The thumb does not play a note; it simply pushes the string into the fretboard and plants itself there. This creates a percussive effect that imitates the snare drum backbeat. Mayers sound is heavily influenced by music with a strong groove, so this technique lets you integrate softer fingerpicking with soulful rhythmic styles without any hitches. This video has a detailed introduction to chuck/flick techniques, with the most detailed explanations starting at 4:33. When you start to get the basic stroke to sound good, progress to the following exercises. They are very simple but they contain the most essential set of motions needed for pluck and chuck songs. When you feel you need a variation or you want to explore a bit, try improvising with these patterns over some chords or making up a solo using the thumb to create a rhythmic drone and playing melodies with the finger plucks and chucks. Chucks are a tricky technique that take some time to adjust to. Its usually wise to start learning a song that doesnt require too many flicks on top of the thumb slaps. Clarity is a perfect example of this, and the main riff to the song is an excellent starting point as you tune your hand position to accommodate the new role of the thumb in your playing. How to Play Clarity by John Mayer The trickiest basic technique to learn is the single chuck. John Mayers guitar style uses a lot of individually picked notes that coincide with thumb slaps, so this technique is very important. Aside from basic issues of hand position and accuracy, you have to also learn to mix different fingers into patterns of both plucking and chucking. Mayer has a strong tendency to do all the flicking with just his index finger, although there are at least a few of his patterns that probably also need to be flicked with the middle finger since the string crossings would be very awkward otherwise. A good pattern to start with is the opening riff to âStop This Train. How to Play Stop This Train by John Mayer As you start to get this down, its good to reach for something a little more adventurous. The opening riff to âThe Heart of Lifeâ requires you to pick out a specific melody, which requires you to cross a lot of strings and you chuck out individual notes. Heres the tab for that passage. How to Play The Heart of Life by John Mayer Mastering this song is an excellent way to develop pluck and chuck technique. Once youve completed this song, youre likely to find that you can improvise melodies over various bass notes, provided that youve already learned a little about improvisation. One of the best ways to capitalize on your newfound skill is to try to write or improvise on your own changes in the style of âThe Heart of Lifeâ and âStop This Train.â The first time most guitarists attempt a John Mayer acoustic song they stumble on this technique. Most western string players learn to pluck or pick strings, where Chinese Pipa and Indian Sitar players prefer to chuck or flick the strings. Its a fundamentally different stroke than what most guitarists are used to, so learning it often makes players feel like a complete beginner. Never fear, your guitar teacher will be happy to help you, and more and more guitarists are tackling this technique as time goes by, and the number of songs that use it has increased dramatically in recent years. Find Your Voice as a Singer 4 Tips that Work
Find Your Voice as a Singer 4 Tips that Work Suzy S. If you look beyond the auto-tune and publicity stunts of todays top artists, youll notice there are actually a lot of strong, female role models for singers today think Adele, Florence Welch (as pictured here) and Leslie Feist, to name a few. One of the best parts of learning to sing is finding your own voice, much like these women have done. Youll need to figure out what makes you unique and sets you apart from the crowd. So before you start your journey, take a look at these tips for finding your voice: 1. Take voice lessons with a classical voice teacher. Even if a contemporary or pop style is most appealing to you, dont neglect the study of classical voice training. You cant discount the important foundation of breathing techniques, vocal placement and resonance. The time spent in the voice teachers studio helps you become more keenly aware of the sensations of your natural singing voice. 2. Listen to many different vocalists and many different musical styles. A large part of vocal training is learning the delicate art of listening critically. Note whether a singer seems natural or affected and keep in mind the long-term effects a particular way of singing may have on vocal health. You will be amazed at the diversity of sounds you find, even among similar styles of music. 3. Experiment with your own voice in the privacy of your teachers studio. Save these vulnerable times for the lesson and not the stage. Even when experimenting with different sounds and vocal placement, remember to practice good breathing and healthy technique. You dont have to compromise vocal health for style. 4. Keep on learning. Read everything you can about singing, take in lots of diverse performances, talk with others in the field and dont be afraid to consult with voice teachers other than your own from time to time. Finding ones own singing voice is an ongoing process and as you learn more you will find that your thoughts about singing will change periodically. This is healthy and indicates a mature approach to singing. (View the full list of tips here.) Keep your ears (and mind!) open, and most of all, dont be afraid to try new things. By experimenting with different styles, youll have a better idea of the singer youre destined to become, what makes you unique and why your fans are going to love you. Interested in Private Lessons?
